SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Allegany County's Paper Gaming Rules and Regulations; and for coordinating work with various County agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma and ten (10) years expercience in the field of law enforcement preferred. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to obtain and maintain a Maryland Special Police Commission and a wear and carry handgun permit preferred; and to pass a physical examination required for this position. Possession of a valid driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the County’s motor vehicle insurance policy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of aspects of the law enforcement processes (investigation, preparation of notice for compliance, collection of evidence, search and seizure, issuance of citations, and court appearences) preferred. Considerable knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Access software desirable. Ability to communicate with people face to face, and remain calm in difficult situations. Working knowledge of Allegany County's Paper Gaming Rules and Regulations preferred. Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of a telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a Classified position at Grade 8 with a salary range of $33,156 to $63,005 and a complete County benefits package including health and life insurance, paid leave, and pension.
