Arc Human Services is hiring an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Canonsburg area!

SUMMARY:

Manages multiple accounting functions and operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations and comply with all GAAP standards. The position will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. They will evaluate accounting processes and systems and implement optimizations. The position will develop and direct up to (3) direct reports. Manages day-to-day performance and operations of the department (including ensuring effective employee relations).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including the following: other duties may be assigned):

Manage Accounting Functions

Oversee and manage various accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue, asset, cost, and tax accounting. Supervise and develop up to (3) direct reports, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

Oversee the organization's representative payee program and payroll operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in compliance with governmental financial and tax regulations and GAAP standards.

Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Evaluate accounting processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations to enhance efficiency.

Maintain effective employee relations within the accounting department, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive work environment.

Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits.

Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.

Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of accounting practices with organizational goals.

Monitor cash flow and financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Participate in special projects and initiatives assigned by senior management, contributing financial expertise and insights.

Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive matters.

Seek opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the accounting department.

Qualifications

Experience with Paycom and Sage Intacct Accounting Software preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in business Administration or Accounting; or three (3) years of experience in the maintenance of fiscal records involving the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices in a nonprofit setting -OR- 1 to 3 years of direct nonprofit accounting experience and an Associate's Degree in Accounting or business Administration; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training as approved by the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
