Arc Human Services is seeking an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist

SUMMARY

Involves the application of accounting principles and practices. Requiring the recording, reviewing, processing and controlling of financial data and records. All work is performed within a framework of prescribed procedures and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING; OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

' Responsible for accounts receivable, creating detailed reports and maintaining daily cash reporting for all corporations. Entering and applying each transaction to the correct account for all receivable transactions and other cash transactions into the accounting software system.

' Track payments and monitor the age of the accounts receivable for all corporations. Requires follow up on non-paying accounts by phone, email and mail.

' Verifies and posts details of business transactions (such as funds received) and totals accounts to ledgers, computer spreadsheets and databases as necessary.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

' Enters all invoices for payments.

' Handles PO system exports into accounting software system.

' Prepares invoice deduction notices as necessary.

' Audits miscellaneous accounts payable to verify all is correct.

' Answers all vendor inquires either by e-mail or by phone.

' Prepares checks for accounts payables.

' Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.

' Prepares analysis of accounts as required.

' Handles credit card system. assists card users and records transactions into accounting software system.

GENERAL ACCOUNTING

' Reconciles Accounts Receivable subsidiary account balances to general ledger on monthly basis and resolves any discrepancies.

' Reconciles Accounts Payable subsidiary account balances to general ledger on monthly basis and resolves any discrepancies.

' Reconciles Rep Payee Client subsidiary account balances to general ledger on monthly basis and resolves any discrepancies.

' All other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associate's Degree in business Administration or Accounting or equivalent credit hours; or two (2) years of experience in the maintenance of fiscal records involving the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices in a for profit or nonprofit setting; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training as approved by the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts including, but not limited to, invoice totals, allocations and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
