Building Code Official/Building Inspector Apprenticeship
This position will train the employee in how to inspect the construction of all buildings required to have a building permit in the Borough of Jefferson Hills and learn how to enforce certain code requirements.
The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Driver’s License. The candidate must have the ability to obtain the following commercial certifications from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry within the first two (2) years of employment:

Building Inspector (Residential and Commercial)

Mechanical Inspector (Residential and Commercial)

Energy Inspector (Residential and Commercial)

Building Code Official
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in time management, critical, and interpersonal skills. The position requires the employee to maintain a Current status, once obtained, of each certification listed above throughout employment.
