Human Resources Assistant
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department.

Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Hours: Three days per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Status: Temporary (12-month position), part-time, non-exempt; potential to develop into a permanent position
Hourly Rate: $20.00
Responsibilities:
- Prepares new hire packets, including employment paperwork and benefit forms
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Aid with the initiation and monitoring of background checks and clearances
- Enroll and update new and current employee data in the HRIS system
- Assist with entering annual employee updates such as PTO accruals, performance increases, and benefits deductions in the HRIS system
- Assist with posting open positions to various online platforms
- Update the staff page and employment page of The Frick Pittsburgh website
- Maintain and update in-house publications such as Frick Faces, the telephone directory, and other manuals as requested
- Assists with the production, distribution and collection of open enrollment materials
- Assist with the annual creation of and distribution of Friends & Family passes to all employees, as well as distribution of passes to new employees
- Assists with mailings during the staff performance evaluation period
- Assists with various human resources events, such as job fairs and the annual Flu Shot Clinic
- Performs clerical functions as needed (e.g., filing, scanning, shredding)
- Support other efforts and complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Committed to fostering a workplace culture of inclusion and belonging
- One to three years of administrative assistant experience required; HR experience preferred
- Associate degree in related field
- Hands-on experience working with MS Office required
- Comfort with mail merges and spreadsheets required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Enjoys working independently and likes to take the initiative, but works well as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve and prioritize projects under pressure
- Good writing and verbal communication skills
- Clearance of a background check
