Step Range: 19 $44,263 - 38 $77,616 Full-Time Benefits Regular – Full -Time The primary function of this position will be reporting financial data, maintaining financial records, verifying accuracy of data, and assuming grant management responsibilities. The accounting specialist position will also focus on budget management processes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure accounting transactions are properly classified and all appropriate accounts are reconciled, in relation to the grant management system.
2. Post journal entries and due to/due from entries to the general ledger on a daily basis/or as received, in relation to the grant management system. 3. Assist with any research and gathering of documents as needed for daily operations and annual audits, in relation to the grant management system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including an understanding of accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, property, purchasing, and risk management. Knowledge of federal grant and contract administration. Knowledge of fund accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION
REQUIRED to possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent. (Must submit copy of diploma or transcripts with application.)

REQUIRED to have four (4) years experience in general accounting field with an emphasis on account reconciliation, journal entry, purchase order and invoice processing is. An Associate’s Degree in accounting may be substitute for specialized experience. (Must submit copy of degree or transcripts with application, as applicable.)
REQUIRED to have experience in computerized accounting systems.
