Job Summary:

 The Accountant will assist in the preparation of the monthly financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, results of operations, and other related financial activities. 

 Job Responsibilities:

  •  Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic (monthly) financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Reconcile and analyze all asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze all revenue and expense accounts, identify any variances from budget expectations
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify that all deposits are classified and recorded correctly.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business required.
  • Two years of nonprofit accounting experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting for a nonprofit entity.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software; knowledge and experience with Abila MIP accounting software for nonprofits desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Compensation: $48,000 - $60,000 based upon knowledge and experience

    • Follows the federal mileage rate.
