Junior Laboratory Technician (Class #4944)
Math, Science, and Technology Department
POSITION: Nine-month, 100%-time (40 hours a week) appointment at $16.15/hour starting August 16, 2021. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparation of materials and equipment for science laboratories including Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, and Microbiology; cleaning laboratories after use; cleaning and restocking glassware; preparing media for lab use; preparing chemical solutions for use in teaching; collecting and facilitation of the storage of hazardous waste; and unpacking and checking deliveries of ordered materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or the equivalent with some science courses and laboratory experience should provide the necessary background for work of this class. Equivalent combination of relevant academic and work experience may be substituted. Ability to read, write and understand English. Final job offer contingent upon complete background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in working in a laboratory environment or educational organization.
