Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for the position of Academic Support Coach. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, position. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Counseling or related field preferred. Prior successful experience in a higher education academic support role desired. Capable of working independently, candidates should possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills and have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituent groups. Responsibilities include managing the University’s Academic Mentoring program; mentoring students who are struggling academically; serving as point person for the University’s online early alert system; teaching sections of a 1-credit resource course, Strategies for Academic Success; proactively communicating with incoming students to assist with transition/onboarding; and working collaboratively with faculty and staff in providing comprehensive support to students who demonstrate need for assistance. May serve as liaison between academic support and Student Life and/or WU Athletics. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
